Brand new to the group, LOVE my Excursion, and am looking for advice.  I bought a 2001 Limited 7.3l earlier this year and want to gain a little ground clearance.  I have a 2" lift now and want to go to a 4" lift.  Which lift kits provide the best results and performance?

I have a 2001 7.3 PS D Limited, What is with the stupid short arm rests? I am not a small person I'm 6 ft. I hate these arm rests Just to save other people the trouble I have tried that plastic piece of crap Arm Rest Buddy (Arm rest Extender) which does not fit Excursions. Has anyone else switched with a longer arm rest? Is there a aftermarket longer arm rest? What is the fix for these stupid soccer mom size arm rests. The engineer who made the arm rests was a elf or a IT desk jockey who never drove a truck ever in his liberal life. LOL

I have a 2000 XLT and I had an issue with it not starting.  All accessory power would come on, truck would crank but not fire.  Instrument cluster was inoperative also with the theft light flashing once every 2 seconds.

Tracked it down to the 10 amp fuse that is for the gauge cluster, and the security transducer.  Replaced the fuse.....GOLD.

Went for a ride and 10 miles in I noticed the gauge cluster was dead and the theft light flashing like before.  Fuse blown.  Replaced again....GOLD.

Another 10 miles......fuse blown.

IDEA's?HuhHuhHuh


UPDATE 11-14-16.  After speaking with several Ford mechanics I found one that had just addressed the same issue.  Turns out that the fuse also operates the Overdrive button on the shift lever.  I opened the column and unplugged the OD button from the harness........works fine.  Now I just have to find the bad spot or replace the button/ wire.

I have a virgin 2000 7.3 with 373 rear-end gears I would like to upgrade tires & I need to replace the front springs at this time thy are week do to time not miles driven, as this truck only has 100000 miles. I love the truck use it to pull my 21 1/2 foot boat aprx 7500LBS looking for any & all Ideas about this matter but I will tell you I would like to keep the comfort of the ride the unit came with if I can, only Get better mileage ride & praformence
